Littleborough is a place of great creativity and artistic talent. To celebrate this, we will be exhibiting a series of artworks by local artists in many of the windows and interiors of our local shops and cafes. Whilst out on your weekly shop, please take a moment to enjoy the variety of work on display.

The Open Mic Poetry and Spoken Word Night is returning to The Red Lion. If you have poetry to share or just fancy a lovely evening of listening, then come along for what is sure to be a fantastic evening.

After a sell-out evening at last year’s Festival, our thespians are back with We Came, We Saw We Monologued 2!

An entertaining evening of monologues and poetry from emerging Northwest writers and actors. This will be a script in hand performance and will may contain some strong language.

Saturday 20 May 11-5pm Make Art in the Park

Hare Hill House and Hare Hill Park

Come along and try out printmaking and a Virtual Reality and Augmented Reality taster sessions in Hare Hill House. Outside in Hare Hill Park you can try your hand at yarn crafts and develop your own photographs. Over on the skatepark, Danakashire Sounds will have their soundsystem set up performing a variety of different genres ranging from dub , garage , 140s , drum n bass , techno and more, with a chance to get involved on the decks.

Sensory music session for young babies and their grown-ups. During the first half hour, Sophie and Alison will lead the group through exercises designed to develop a sense of rhythm and listening in your little one using a combination of singing, ambient music and lights. We’ll finish the session with a brew and a biscuit.

A make and take music session for toddlers and young pre-schoolers. Sophie and Alison will show you how to make a kazoo and a cardboard box guitar which we will decorate in the session. We will finish with a few simple songs to play on these instruments which you can take home. We will complete the session with a brew and a biscuit.

Saturday 20 May 1 - 3pm An introduction to Sound Recording, Editing and Creativity in Music

The Gig House/Star Tree Studio

This introductory session will provide women and gender minorities with an experience of recording and editing music using mobile phones, audio recorders, microphones and free editing software. During the session, we will look at how to record a singer songwriter who uses a guitar and vocal to produce music and show the group how to edit the recordings using music editing software. We will also look at adding additional effects and field recordings to the song to really bring the piece to life

Sunday 21 May Springtime Herbal Walk: Identifying wild food and medicine

Meet Outside the Front of Hare Hill House

1.5 hour session, no need to book
Session 1 – 11:00
Session 2 – 14:00

Join artist and herbal enthusiast Alison Cooper to explore the sometimes overlooked medicine and wild food which can be found right on our doorsteps. Meeting at Hare Hill Park the session will explore the park and local landscape, to discover edible and medicinal plants with some folklore tales and song added to the mix.

The session will finish with a herbal tea tasting inspired by the seasons and local plants.

Please wear suitable footwear and weatherproof clothing as we can’t always guarantee the weather.

Sunday 21 May 12pm – 5pm Music from the Bandstand

The Bandstand, Hare Hill Park

We have teamed up with Friends of Hare Hill Park to bring you a wonderful afternoon of music from the Bandstand.

Music will begin at 12pm and run through to 5pm, so bring your picnic blanket down and enjoy a lovely relaxed afternoon in our beautiful Park.
